I have came across this there are no modifications to it except it ha real mother of pearl grips which seem old, and has a lanyard loop on the but. Condition is about 75 to 80 % over all. Why does it have a lanyard loop and is $600.00 to much.

Many of the 2nd model HEs were built on 1917 frames that S&W bought back from the government after WW I. 1917s had lanyard loops.

Can't really say about the price. A lot depends on where you live and the condition. Is it a 6 1/2" (seems to be the most common) or possibly a 5"? Can you post pictures?

Yeah, but look how much bullets cost in your area. Heck, that gun is a bargain.
