Just got my second S&W revolver, the bug has started feeding on me. Have a K22 1950s and now a Model 10 no dash snub 1960s. Both in excellent condition.

Going to get my CCW permit in about a month and will be carrying the Model 10.

I am tired of looking at all the holster choices, time to ask the men and women who know best. Maybe it would be easier to tell me what to stay away from as well.

I would appreciate actual model numbers/names if you have them.

I have been carrying a 2" Model 64 (same as a 2" Model 10, only stainless steel) for the last three years in a Don Hume JIT Slide. It is an outside waistband holster, very comfortable and easy to conceal with an untucked t-shirt, Hawaiian or Guyaberra shirt. The holster carries the revolver fairly high, the muzzle is even with the bottom of the belt.

I had a Wild Bill's Concealment "No Such Agency" holster, it was an IWB holster with a spring clip for easy on-off. It was ok, but I like the Don Hume Slide better, so I sold the Wild Bill's holster. One thing about the spring clip holsters, make sure you have a sturdy,
1 1/2" belt or the revolver will twist and fall out of the holster. More of a problem with 2" revolvers I think, longer barrel revolvers (4") cairried IWB don't have as much of a problem retaining.

I can recommend the Kramer IWB Clip Cowhide. Very handy. For a belt holster, a pancake is the best balance of comfort, retention and concealability. The Galco Speedmaster is decent quality and usually easy to find.

Be sure to check with Bell Charter Oaks. Lefty has some great, time-proven designs available and is a Forum member.

I think that IWB would make me nervous with a 2" barrel - not enough below the belt except with a Barami Hip Grip, which IS secure, but a wee bit slower to get at.

JIT works for me. I've used one a lot for a 2" M15, and have a 37 in one right now.

I have order a BOC from Lefty. Great guy to talk too and I am starting my nine weeks of waiting, oh the agony.

Thanks for all the replies.

Rick
