Default 5" 357, S82916

I thought I would brighten the section with this bright blue 357 Magnum I bought back in October. Matching magnas. No ship date on it, but likely 1951-52. S82916

As noted - A warning for use of sunglasses prior to opening attachments might have been in order ……

Beautiful gun.
I think 5 inch bbls balance the best on a N frame.

Does this gun have proud pins? I cannot make them out in the picture. Reason I ask is I am trying to pin down when pre 27s were transitioning to the flush blued over pin.

I just found a pre 27 3 1/2 with proud pins.

Default Is that the preferred treatment?

I own a number of firearms and have a healthy supply of Ren wax. Is it the consensus that it is better to remove all exterior oil and wax the metal? Pros and cons. Thanks for displaying that beautiful 27. Lucky man you are!

At Dunkin Gunwash all my incoming guns get scrubbed with Flitz, rinsed in water to get the remaining Flitz residue off, swished and soaked an hour or more in a 5 gallon bucket of WD-40 to disperse any remaining water, sprayed with non-chlorinated BrakeKleen then lubricated as necessary, polished with Simichrome and RenWaxed to preserve the polish......Ben

I just wipe it down with alcohol before Ren Wax.

Front sight pins are polished flush.
