Modified Triplelock and Skeeter Skelton books (Waco sale)
My five inch Triplelock with King ramp and mirror sight and after market grips that I purchased at the Waco sale. (Don’t know anything about the grips.) I was equally excited about the lot of twenty books I scored. It included five copies of the hardback version of “Skeeter Skelton on Handguns.”

The saddle belonged to my grandfather. He was born in 1913 way up in Sheridan, Wyoming. I’ve never found a name or maker’s mark, but it is a stout and well made little saddle. He passed away in 1995 and this is just one of many things I wished I’d have asked him more about.
Thanks for asking. It’s one of my prized possessions.

I was a bidder on that one. Glad to know that someone here on the forum took her home. There are other grips like those here on the forum - I just cannot remember who posted them...

I had some new ones made by forum member schofieldkid81 (Steve Jesse, who has been AWOL for several years now, whereabouts unknown). He made several pair for me both with and without medallions, and in both K and N size. Some stocks by schofieldkid81

As much as I admire the revolver, grips, and even the saddle (I know nothing at all about them though.), it's the books that caught my eye. I do have a soft cover copy of "Skeeter Skelton on Handguns" that I pull out once in a while when I want to visit an old friend I haven't seen in years. I had to pay a pretty penny for it on ebay, but I've forgotten how much now, so it was worth it. That's the only Skeeter I've got, but do have a couple by Keith, and a couple more by Jack O'Connor who was a favorite of mine growing up. Oh, and several by Robert Ruark and Peter Capstick. I never did get to Africa.
I had several of those soft cover books back in the 80's. A couple of Skeeter's, another was "Guns of the Gunfighters" and one that was about the size of a Guns Digest that covered the gunfighters guns, and the guns the old western movie/TV stars used. Somewhat alas, my youngest son, who would read anything he could get his hands on, read them until they literally fell apart. On one hand, I was sorry to lose them, but on the other hand, I was glad he enjoyed reading so much, and got so much enjoyment out of them.

Here’s a couple of close ups of the grips. They really feel good in my hand and I’ve definitely warmed up to them since I bought the revolver.

Nice pick up on "I remember Skeeter" too. I think his widow only sold those by mail.
