Default My K32, Model 16

I decided to get my no-dash 16 out for a few photos and share them with all the good folks on the forum. It's as close to pristine as anything I own, not to mention it is "seldom found". Shipped January, 1961. It must have sat in the vault for a little while. Everyone wanted K38's, K22's and 357's back then. Enjoy.

That is stunningly nice. The K-32 Masterpiece is the only postwar K target model that I don't have in my collection. I had a chance to buy an early K-32 from about 1949 a few years back. Unfortunately, it had been altered in a couple different ways and was, in my opinion, priced much too high for its condition. So I passed.

I'm not out looking for one, but if the right one came along, I would snap it up, depending on the price.

The sad thing is that when I got back from my second year in SE Asia, there were plenty of Model 16s (dash 3s, of course) still for sale, brand new. They were priced below $150. Not knowing they would be going out of production forever (I don't count the later magnum versions) I foolishly passed them up. Big mistake.

It's GORGEOUS, Retired W4! I've posted mine in other threads, but it's not so nice. It's decent but pales in comparison to yours. I enjoy shooting it without guilt. I'd feel guilty shooting yours. Heck, I'd feel guilty if YOU shot yours!

I am really envious. That revolver is an absolute treasure! Thanks for the looks.

I posted a “Like” because this forum has no icon or button for “Lust After”. That is a real doll baby. One of my last unfulfilled S&W dreams is a 1948 vintage K32 with narrow rib. Fortunately I haven’t begun to obsess on it.

My wife got a K-32 for me in 2009, here is the post I made at the time. She was kind of nervous meeting the seller at the walmart parking lot!
DOB for model 16
