Question K-22 question........

,,,,,a friend brought me a pretty nice 4 screw K-22 and the serial number is in the K 306,96x range and best I can find is that around K 317,xxx the model numbers became stamped on them,,,any idea about when ( time frame) this occurred??? thank you
