This may get long, so here’s the bottom line up front: I’m seeking information on “pre-War” (1933-1946) .38 Military and Police Model of 1905 Fourth Change revolvers with 2” barrels.

The search for information on a recently-acquired, early 2” M&P sent me down an rabbit hole, and through a series of fortunate events, some enthusiastic digging through old forum posts, and with the very kind and very generous assistance of some noteworthy S&W collectors and aficianados I find myself in possession of a small “database” of about 70 of these revolvers. Much of this information was originally gathered at great effort by Mike Pacella (“Pace40”) several years ago, and to prevent its potential loss I would like to make it available to the S&WCA. But before I submit what I have I’d like to cast a broad net in an effort to gather any additional information that might be in the possession of members of the S-W Forum.
