Default The "N" stamp on 27-2 nickel ???

Found a 27-2 nickel with box and tools. The gun looks mint. Question is the N stamp looks to have been made with three separate strikes. Very apparent on the grip. I think it may have been a blue model that was nickeled. Any thoughts. Thanks.
