What a deal I thought S&W 12-2
What a deal I thought. S&W 12-2. Been looking forever for a 2 inch model 10. Found this 12-2 on the net. OK, it'll do. But after fees, taxes, shipping, and transfer, well bye bye deal. But I'm still happy. Finally something to put my pearl grips on. Been way ahead to have given the pearls away. Just wish it wasn't so nice. I want to shoot it!. But now the wood grips are looking pretty good to me.
Anyway, any idea as to when it was made? C667605. Thanks.
For anyone interested, 12 frame is same a 1899 HE frame. Grips off my 1899 Navy fit perfect, as does the pearl grips on the 12.

Cool gun, congratulations!
But I agree on the “fee, sales tax on the value and shipping cost (?!) and suddenly it’s no deal” situation. Figure a 10-15% bump from the “winning bid” on average.

Must have been made specifically for an early model 12. Or that’s why OP thinks wood grips look better.

You have real MOPs for a mod-12-2? Or Scotts imitations?

I like it, interesting guns
I only pay shipping, Montana has no sales tax and my FFL guy needed some welding done, so it will be a while before I have to pay for a transfer

The C&R I've had for around 15 years now has paid for itself many times over. So many of the guns I bought were in the Over 50 years age category.
I sent my son some guns (to Wash State), and it cost over $100 in FFL fees per gun.

The OPs MOPs are service stocks, so the thinner Model 12 frame doesn’t affect the fit.
And it looks quite sporty with them!
