Letter Model 53
Ordered a letter today for a Model 53, 6", blue, 4 screw. It shipped in May 1961.
Have read a lot of threads about are letters worth it.
I have decided not to worry about the cost or if the letter will be something other than garden variety.
I'm going to consider it as a donation to SWHF. We should all be doing that anyway if we can.
So, I make a small donation to SWHF and get a free letter out of the deal. Sweet.

That is a nice one. I agree on the SWHF.
I lettered my 53 (4 screw) because it had a butt swivel and RR/WO. Turns out it came from the factory that way. I believe it is the only model 53 that shipped with a butt swivel (lanyard loop for the uninitiated )
It was sold to Stoeger Arms.

I have an early M53 # 444444. I thought with that number it might have been shipped to a special person. NOT !!! Big Larry

My only 53 is an 8 3/8" no dash from 1961...Has the extra numbered cylinder and the inserts, but no box...It's on my to-be-lettered list...
I know where 5 more are, but they're all valued more highly than I would pay...Still I may make a bid for all 5 before too long...Why, you ask?...Because they are there, and not here!... ...Ben
EDIT: And yes, David, I look at the cost of the letters in the same way, plus it's my contribution to history...
