Default 5-screw 22/32

There was one of these at the local gunshow this past weekend - about the only interesting item at the whole show. Buddy/forum member Nimrod44 looked at it long and hard but ultimately declined it.
4-digit s.n., 4" round butt, correct diamond stocks but we didn't get quite serious enough to take them off and check for matching numbers. One little thin area in the bluing just behind the muzzle on the left side of the barrel, other than that, very high condition. No box. Seller's ask was $950. Is that in the ballpark? We felt it was a little salty, but maybe not.

I know I paid more than that for one of mine, but I can't recall the details, and right now I'm too lazy to look it up in my records...Maybe I can remember to do it later......Ben

It would have to be a 4 screw. A 4 digit serial number would make it a Model of 1953 New I Frame which has the larger trigger guard w/o front screw. Only the 4 screws in the side plate. $950 is not bad for that gun as described assuming grips match.

Thanks for that clarification. I felt sure the grips would match, as the fit was perfect and gave the impression they'd been on there a while - but I would have wanted to know for sure if I were a serious buyer.

It would have been nice to see a Kit Gun come through the Expo show.

I would have politely asked him to remove the wood.
