Default Letter Questions on a 32-20 Target

I picked up this 32-20 Target from the Lock Stock and Barrel Auction earlier this year.

The letter shown with the auction listing showed a May 1917 shipping date to a Nashville TN dealer.

When the gun arrived the letter was missing so I called LS&B and they ordered a replacement letter which showed up today.

The replacement letter shows a June 1917 shipping date to a Seattle Dealer. It also included a copy of what appears to be the ledger confirming the shipping date and location.

I assumed when I bid on the gun that it had replacement grips as they didn't fit well and I thought original ones would have had medallions but interestingly neither letter mentions medallion grips.

Including a copy of the ledger is a nice extra feature that I appreciate.

What do you think is the correct shipping location and what are the correct grips?

Pardon the poor quality pictures, the gun is actually very nice.

Those grips (S&W called them stocks) didn't exist until after WW1. As to the different ship dates and locations, I'm at a loss. Mistakes happen with letters, but are rare. Having a .32-20 target, you must be into serious S&Ws. I suggest you join the SWCA as it's much easier to find such info on that side of the forums.
For what it's worth, I LOVE my two .32-20 targets!

You are looking at a section of the original shipping ledger which is where the date came from, so no question that Mike's letter has the correct date and destination. Agree that there was no way those stocks existed in 1917. Gold medallions are the correct configuration for the gun. Also, the front sight looks ivory???

Thanks for the replies. Don's letter actually shows Nashville so I take it you think Michael's letter is correct as it matches the ledger.
