Hey - lot's of questions here. Bear with me. On the .45 Hand Ejector Brazilian Contract of 1937, it looks like about 60% condition(according to 28th Edition of the Blue Book) and an evaluation by an FFL here in Atlanta, GA. Also, it has no import marks. Am I reading the values right? $1075.00 and add 100% for older "non-import" I paid $250.00 for it. Maybe the private seller I bought it from did not know what he had. Any info anyone would like to share would be appreciated.

While I think $250 is a real good price for it, I don't think it's worth anywhere near $1075!

you and me both. i thought i got a good deal but when the dealer pulled out the 28th Blue Book and we went over the figures, I was astounded. Hey, I got the pistol I wanted, now I just have to get some half moon clips and have some fun.

60% of original finish remaining would take it out of the collector's category.
If the gun truly has NO import markings, the barrel may have been swapped out at some time. I very much doubt it is worth $1075 unless it has provenance that traces it to some important personage such as Juan Perron....oops! He was from Argentina, wasn't he?

Look at the barrel directly above the ejector rod. The serial number there should match the butt and cylinder numbers. Look very carefully at the flat where the serial number is stamped on the barrel. That's normally where CAI stamped its 1937 imports.
Even if it's an recent import, $250 is OK for a decent 60% shooter. Check the timimg, cylinder end shake, and B/C gap. If those measurements are all OK, you did fine, no matter when it came back from Brazil.

250 is a great price if the bore is still good!
