Hello all:
[previously posted on 'smithing' forum without reply]
I'm casting about for a pistolsmith to tidy up my old/new 1917 Brazilian--quite beatup, little blue remaining, failure-to-fire on one cylinder etc. The BC Armory site:
www.bcarmory.com
seems to offer reasonaby priced service packages. Does anyone know their work? I havent' found any rants against them online, and some have praised them.
Or, more simply, any recommendations for a 'smith to do the basics--trigger job, endshake, timing? If the piece's condition really eliminates any collector value, I may wish to go overboard in the range of barrel shortening, hammer-bobbing, etc. to make up a semi Fitz.
PS I have a copy of Kuhnhausen and will explore how much I dare do myself.
