Coke grips
Would a 1957 25-2 have "coke" grips What would be the value of the grips alone?
Thanks,
Ischia

Coke grips did not come standard on the model 25-2 but could have been special ordered on it.
So we can't say for sure unless the gun's serial # is stamped on the back of the right grip. And this is highly unlikely because target grips were very rarely numbered since there was very little fitting if any to the grip frame required. A letter might reveal if the cokes were original.
Cokes have sold for anywhere between $300 - $450 depending on condition.

25-2s were not started until 1961 and then would have most likely had target grips with the diamond center until 1968. Depending on the exact grips on the gun, it would be hard to determine a value.

Unless I am mistaken, all 25-2s were shipped with Walnut target stocks. Cokes were always Goncala Alves or Rosewood. It may have been a special order placed on the factory but only factory documents would back that up.
The grips alone would be in the $300 to $500 range depending upon condition.
Mike
P.S. I guess I need to type faster.....also, my comment about only walnut stocks for the 25-2 only applies to the pre 1968 diamonds. Later on they were shipped with Goncala Alves like all the other N frames.

GB # 799331731 Have a look.
serial #S 278973 A 1957? .45 ACP as shown/offered in that condition seems way too cheap.
Lot's of time up here in Seattle as we are snowed in.
Appreciate any info to clear this up.
Thanks,
Ischia

Not sure of the technicality, but the auction id is not a link. I looked at that gun auction the other day. Call it a typo on the listing as the serial number would have it around ‘67 but not ‘57.
