I was lucky enough to find a couple new nickle barrels on Gunbroker a couple of weeks ago and just finished installing one in my third model Ladysmith .22 These are known for having been shot with Long Rifle ammo and or hotter than factory loads than the original .22 Long ammo these were made for. This can happen because the cylinder does not really have chambers but charge holes instead that are drilled straight through. Mine had a couple small cracks and after shooting it with some low velocity .22 shorts it actually blew out a small section of the forcing cone, again a very common problem with these guns. So my barrels came today and of course that sent me straight out to the shop for the install. My gun originally came with the three inch barrel and one of the new barrels I got was a three inch but I just could not resist installing the cute little 2 1/4 inch barrel in my gun.It took some fitting work but came out absolutly perfect! so what do you think? I love it, already test fired it and its dead on nuts at ten feet:~) It will get shot once in awhile, I tend to shoot everything I have and this one is just too fun not to shoot!
Thanks! I forgot to mention, those plier marks on the little release button were there when I got it! Gun hacks, sheesh.....

Very neat with the short barrel! My 3rd has the 3" also, and was sent back to the factory in the 20's, probably for a barrel replacement. (bore and mechanics are absolutely perfect) Just like you said, it shoots great! I've put a few low velocity CB shorts through it. The same thing I shoot occasionally in my 2nd and 3rd model .22 #1 tip-ups.
