You know how when you have a holstered revolver and you jump around or run about and the gun keeps going "click click click" because the casings are hopping up and down with that oh-so-slight gap that they can move between the cylinder and the frame?

Well, being the obsessive person I am, I was wondering about using wax to silence it.

You know that really soft red wax that cheese comes wrapped in? If you got a small amount of that, and stuck it to the rim of the casing before you chamber it, it sticks in and doesn't bounce in and out. I would assume the wax wouldn't cause a problem, but does anyone know if this could cause issues during firing or if the wax could somehow damage the metal? I would think wax would have preserving characteristics rather than destructive ones on stainless steel, but how would I know?

Wow, this may just be one of the dumbest sounding posts I have ever created. Oops, I also meant it to be in the modern revolver section.

Could be an extraction problem. Maybe a melting problem, depending on the cartridge.

Having been in a number of foot races while carrying a holstered revolver, I can honestly say I have never heard the rounds clacking during my run.

Carry reloads. The brass will be a little oversized and won't rattle as much, if any.
