Default Getting the Model 29-2 ready for deer season

I took my 4-inch 29-2 and some of my handloads out this morning. 40 yards off hand, have a bit more practicing to do, but I'm getting there.

Sir, good on ya. I also like that the target shows where the internals are.

Semper Fi,

I need one of those targets, too.

Care to mention the load you're using?

My favorite load, 10.0 grains of Unique behind a 250 grain cast bullet, Lyman #429421.

I have my 5" 29-2 all sighted in. It really likes the 250 Keith bullet from RCBS over 20.0 gr of 2400. I'll probably take it out a few times.
I've been shooting my 625-6 Mountain Gun a lot. Hope to shoot a deer or elk with it. Clipped a couple grouse heads with it, missed a lot more!
I just put a Hi-Viz sight on it for hunting season, so far I like them.
The Mountain Gun is with me all the time, the 29-2 seems to stay home except for special occasions.

I have the same 625 Mtn Gun in .45 Colt.
They guy I traded it from killed a deer with it using a Corbon load at 20-25yds.
It's fast becoming one of my favorite revolvers and I'd like to have a 2nd one.
I may try to get a shot on some venison with this .45 Colt next week!

Nearly identical to my 7 grains of Bullseye and a RCBS 44-250-K load. I'm using it for deer this year, too.

David, that group is looking good!
Is this the only handgun you use for deer?
Have you taken a deer with that gun and load?
Good luck this year.

I just got this gun this past March so this will be its first season in the woods, prior to that it was a Ruger Blackhawk .41 Magnum. I also got a 624 this year that is all tuned and ready to go and I just bought a Ruger Blackhawk 50th Anniversary in .44 Magnum that shoots very well. All 3 will take turns, but all three will get their chance.
