I bought this seldom fired gun yesterday from my favorite gunshop. They took in 3 nice S&W revolvers from a local police officer who had no use for them anymore. I picked this one. I got his name & phone number because he still has the original grips and is looking for them. He bought this gun new in 1978 when he was a rookie. He said new officers had to buy their own weapons and the department would deduct the cost from their pay.
He said he seldom fired it, and it looks like it. He carried a Mod. 65 on duty, but now they carry autos.
I think it will make a good nightstand gun. I think I'll load it with Speer 38SPL+P 135 gr. GDHP's.
