One for the database
Im not sure if I gave you the info on this 19-2, serial K711,285 ,
Guessing mid 1966 so your search for a 1967 continues ...(sorry).
Most notable are its yellow front site insert, wide TT/TH and the proud front site pins.
I unfortunately can not attest to the originality of the yellow FS insert but here is a picture of it
with a 27-2 (top) from 1966 (same year) with the same yellow insert and proud front site pins.
Have you noticed the pin protrudes through the front of the ejector shroud more on the pre models?
Both "Pre"27 and "Pre"19 (shown at bottom) have much more "protrusion" than their dash 2 counterparts.

19-4
I don't care for rubber grips, but till my grip adapter comes, these are good enough.
I can't say enough good things about a 4" model 19 in blue.

JCS&W,
That is the first Pinto shorty 19 I have ever seen. I didn't know they made them in that model. I don't know how rare that is, but it seems pretty rare to me!!!

I agree, but they look like they might be for an N frame. Am I wrong and it's just the light?

S&W Mdl 19-4,Serial 71k89XX
6 in barrel, the last model change before S&W de-improved the design.
Pictured with beater grips, I have a fresh pair but keep them for dress up.

Well I have watched this thread long enough, so I will post my two here.
19-5 from 1987, I purchased in 2010
S & W 19-5zz.jpg
19-2 from 1965 I purchased earlier this year
100_0606.jpg
Neither are as nice as the wonderful other examples found throughout this thread, but they are nice shooters to spend quality time with. Thank you all for the inspiration to find them.

Yes. Actually seen more than nickel only.
I don't have either so hopefully someone who does will back me up and post a picture of theirs.

I brought home a 6 inch 19-4 today and have really enjoyed this whole thread. This one is in 98% or better, pinned and recessed, small S&W logo under the cylinder latch, no trigger stop, 71K029x, standard hammer and trigger, black sights front and rear. I would guess it at late 1970's production. I bought it for leisurely punching paper and so I could get back into reloading .357. I once owned a 2 1/2 inch Mod. 19 but the muzzle blast just made it a chore to shoot so sold that some years back. If this one works out I may consider a 4 incher as a trail and fishing gun. Pictures later with some luck.

Grip search
I'm looking for a pair of grips for my Combat Magnum that I can use for hunting with large gloves (its usually cold here in WI). The factory "targets" have the correct length, but are too wide (thick?) I'm considering purchasing another pair of target stocks and rasping, shaping them down to a very slim width. However, all of the grips I've seen for sale are $40 and up. I'd even take some old, ratty, chipped ones for the project. Any help ?

Why would you get burned at the stake? Rubber grips? Lock? Still 90% better than any other revolver made today.

Just a little late to the party...
Here is my 19-3, 2K461XX, from around 1971. I bought it off Gunbroker and it came with Pachmayr Grippers. After getting cleaned up I changed them to Ahrends Retro Targets, and after a few range trip decided I needed the checkering and had to go back to the Grippers. I wish I knew which type of grips came with it; she looks awful nice with the goncalo alves targets from my 686...
Fresh out of the box:
Cleaned up with Ahrends Retro Targets
With my 686 no dash
