Default new mods on my 10-5.

this is minor mod and only cost me 22 bucks. but i think it looks much better for my shooting style.

before..

and after...

i noticed as well that there are a few blemishes or stains on the finish, is there anything you guys can think of that may take that stuff off of it? thanks guys.

and aslo, the front ramp sight seems to have been painted orange for easier sight alignment, anything you guys can think of that would help with having that redone? may some better paint or something. this is the only nickel finish gun i own so im not sure on what to use on it or what is safe for the finish. thanks guys.

The nickel on my 2" 10-5 got cloudy like that. A good polishing with "Flitz" brought back the old shine.

Fingernail polish remover (acetone) will remove the old paint on the front sight. Small bottles of enamel of hundreds of colors and shades are available at hobby and model shops.

I love the Hogue mono-grips & my original pair is still on my 4" M66-1, former duty weapon. The main thing is to keep the other grips & any parts you change so that they can be changed back if you desire.

For pure "coolness" there is nothing like factory and aftermarket wood, as well as the "exotic" grips but, for me, Hogue Monos are great for shooting.

CCW grips are a whole other kettle of fish!

i just like the feel of the hogue rubbers on it compared to what was on it. i did keep the old ones, i wouldnt trash'em. i keep all my spare parts from all my guns. i may sand the old finish off the wood grips and stain them a little darker since they werent the originals anyways. or maybe try some custom engraving with my new wood burner and then finish it off. im def. going to get the old paint off the front sight and go with something else. i may even have her shipped off to S&W to have them totally re finish the nickel. but i dont think its in that bad of shape to have that done just yet.

I like wood for looks but all my shooters wear hogue monogrips. I don't have any guns which does not get shot. They are not pretty but nice to shoot.
