S&W 27-2
I just picked up a S&W 27-2 6inch w/target grip in 98+ condition. I've been looking for a nice one for some time. The lock-up is very tight and the blueing is gorgeous. I have $700 into it since I traded. No box or paperwork but I couldn't be happier. Can't seem to post pic or I would. I'm very excited about this one.

It has been my experience that weapons sans boxes and paperwork generally shoot just as well as the ones with such items.

Congratulations on what sounds like a real beauty! I was looking for 1 myself, with no luck. Settled for a 28. 1960, no dash. Never been sorry about it. Bob

Congrats on your new gun.
I'v had this M27-no dash for a while and still haven't shot it yet and I'm looking forward to it.
I just had a bent rear sight blade replaced so I do need to get it sighted in.

Congratulations on getting you one fine revolver man! They are really the Cadillac of revolvers, in my opinion. I bought my first model 27 back in 1974, a 5" barrel gun. I now own 7 and gave another to my daughter.

I'm seeing some nice guns here. These 27's are a thing of beauty. You all have some nice guns. That 28 looks nice. I have a 4inch 28 and it prompted me to find this 27. I love N frame Smith's

Model 27-2 yoke issue
I recently found a S&W model 27-2 in like new condition, with all the papers and the wood presentation case. The price was decent so I bought it. But later when I examined the beast in its every details, I noticed that the yoke is a little loose. When the gun is horizontal, with the yoke closed and facing the ground, if I gently push on the yoke, there is a small loose, more or less a milimeter. At first, I taught that the problem was caused by the ejector rod locking bolt. So I took the locking bolt from a model 28 I have as a replacement; but that did not fix the issue.
If somebody have experienced a similar issue and know the solution, any information will be apreciated. This gun is really a gem, it is a champion on the range and would be close to perfection if I only solve that issue. Many thanks.

I have a s&w m27-2 6” in blue and another in nickel. I like to keep different caliber revolvers with the same frame and weight. It makes them more accurate to shoot.

I was having trouble with my pictures the other day, but here's a couple of pictures of my 27-2, with a 4" barrel. It came with a presentation case, and tools, but no papers.
Anything that looks like a blemish is the result of poor lighting. I'm not sure if it's ever been fired or not, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I traded into mine with the original box for a $600 long gun. The other guy didn't know what he had. Congrats on yours and hope you can get some pics up soon.

If it shoots good, don't worry about it.

Early 27-2, good price, though I did have to replace the rear sight and the cylinder stop.
