Brought home a Nickel 19-4 2.5"
I just picked this up yesterday and cleaned it a little. Very clean with a 75kxxxx s/n which I figure is 1980 or 1981. The original wood grips are in great shape but changed them out for these CZ's for shooting.

Here it is with original stocks, which are in very good shape. Goes well with my 3" blue 13-2 and 3" ss 65-3.

Great gun for a great price! This model 19-4 is SN 75K4288. I believe it started life as a 2.5" gun and is the product of a barrel swap. It is near your SN and for reference, it shipped in October 1979.

All the best adjectives have been used up!
You did well, and I'm glad to see there are still good deals out there.
Thanks for sharing that beauty!

I really enjoy my minty nickel 19-4. Mine is just a little older than yours (s/n 33K1035, ca. 1978)- I shoot it with the original stocks although they are a little small for my big mitts. Enjoy!

Thank you for all of the comments.
Baxter - The black grips are VZ (thanks, not CZ as stated) and they are aluminum. I will look into the model when I get home. Smaller profile than the rubber grips that I put on my other K frames and fit nicely.
RK - The s/n on this one is in the low 0400 range so probably mid 1980 per the book.
Hawg - nice looking nickel. Those original stocks are a bit hard on my aging hands.

That's a very nice Model 19 that you found. I'm very partial to Model 19s, no matter what their barrel length is.
Here's my 2 1/2" Model 19-3 with a Tyler T Grip.

Baxter, the VZ grips are coded 'KLF-TD-B-RB'. No other description on the packaging. Close up image attached.

OP, your new Model 19-4 is super nice. I have always wanted a 2 1/2" BLUED model 19. I have a nickel model 27-2 and a nickel pre 10, so I have wanted a beautifully blued NIB model 19 with a 2 1/2" barrel. Maybe one day.

Thank you Boykin. As mentioned, my 13-2 is blue and my 65-3 is ss. Probably go with a 66 next if I come across the right one.

I love them in all colors and variations. I also really like Culina Combat grips for shooting. The nickel is a 19-5. The blue is a 19-3. I don’t carry them much but I will carry my 66-2. Enjoy.

LPD, those grips look very nice, and the revolvers of course. What makes the 66 a better carry choice for you than the 19's?

I received my letter today and this 19-4 was shipped 12/12/1979, so a little earlier than I thought. It shipped to PA with a similar model pistol with s/n 75K0401.

Sorry, I missed this question. I like carrying stainless guns for ease of cleaning, no noticeable wear on the finish, and they just stay nice longer. But I like them all. The Culina Combat K/L round butt grips are beautiful and fit my larger hands nicely. Thanks. Jim

I see he answered the question, and I concur, I have a M66-1 snubbie. If you happen to gouge it, you won't have a big ugly scratch of a different color, and you can buff them out without ruining the finish.

My M66-1 is 76Kxxxx, and it is mid 1980.

See, now that's a problem.......you have entirely too many stubby guns. What you need is something a little longer, to balance things....😊

Very jealous.
I've been hunting a 2.5" or possibly 3" K-frame (66, 19, 65) in my AO for a long time without closing a deal. My timing is bad because I've increased the intensity of my hunt recently at a time when pricing is not in my favor but I think these 2.5 to 3" K-frames are pretty gorgeous.
I've been hunting a 2.5" 66 more recently because I'd like to carry it on occasion so I prefer the stainless but the 19s and nickel versions look extra sharp. I don't really care for the 66-8 personally so I'm looking for one of the earlier models.

True but I do have a nice revolver with a 4.25" barrel, unfortunately it was born with the wrong brand stamped on it!

Thanks! A couple months back I bought this one, serial # 33K117X
which is real close to yours. Now I know around when it was made. It was $750, came to close to $800 after CA state extortion fees. I'd have paid over $800 foe a nickel one like the OP's.But I love this blued -4. It came with Mustang grips and I put these and the (square butt) T grip on it. I just like the retro diamond grips better. What a great shooter this thing is.
