Default S&W 15-3

I have an old s&w 15-3 that I am considering selling the number stamped on the frame and only visible when open is 3k939 this the only number I can find on it is this the ser. number it has a few minor blemishes on the blueing , it has the original wooden grips and what I think is the original s&w holster can somebody help me with the manufacture date and approx. value thanks thetroll

The serial number should be on the base of the frame handle/grip/whatever name you use. That number is a manufacturing number used to track this or that during the manufacturing process.

I might be a buyer for that; I'll stay tuned.

That actually could be the serial but double check the "Heel" or butt for the same serial.
If correct its an early 70's gun like 1972 ish.


I recently purchased a 15-2 in VG mechanical condition but not so great cosmetics for $200,
also bought a perfect one for $500 last year so price varies with condition.

Price is really affected by cosmetic condition so post some pics when you get a chance for a better estimate.
