27-2 Nickel 3 1/2'' Police Marked but from where?
Picked this one up at the last OGCA meeting, I'm interested if anyone knows from what city the markings are from, I was told it might be Austin Tx. Thanks for any help.

Nice !
A letter would at least tell you where it was shipped to.

I had a Model 66 that had the same markings and it was an Austin PD trade in.

My markings are a bit different but it looks like Austin PD...
The number on the gun will be a rack number not the officers
badge number.

I saw the gun at OGCA, it looked very nice and was priced right. I also thought that it was an Austin PD gun. -Congrads

That's a nice one! Since I live just north of Atoona Pa I would call it an Altoona PD gun! Just kidding, but the only way to be sure is to letter it and see where it was shipped. On a bit of a side note, I bought a .38 special 681 with CRPD on the left frame with no idea what it was, turned out it was a Conrail Police Department gun from a small special order, and in Altoona they had a large Conrail shop. I like to think it was from there. Good luck with a positive ID!

3.5" nickel 27s used by the Austin PD are well known. Quite a few have been posted on this forum over the years. That's an Austin gun.

Saxon is correct,
Its definitely a Austin P.D gun, I own # 510 and letters correctly from Mr. Jinks. Here it is with Kuracs stocks on it. Didn't like the original grips, there put away with others. Now I'm looking for that FHP 5" thats out there. Hope you enjoy yours James as much as I do mine!

Yes I do. If your question was to me. But I wont be getting rid of it anytime soon if ever. Keep looking, there out there, so everyone seems to think. I'm still looking for FHP 5" Nickel M-27-2 Everyone seems to think there out there also and I'm sure both are, but finding them for sale is another story...
