What is the stock grip on a late 50,s,early 60's model 28 highway patrolman? What is the value of this gun,in good condition,6" barrel?
Thanks

They came with checkered walnut square butt service grips standard...there were target grips available, but I believe they were special order or after market for N frames in general...
The Model 28 was a plain jane police service revolver, but also one of the best revolvers they ever made, IMO.
I can't help you on the value - mine was refinished and I got it so cheap I won't mention the price I hate jealousy.

IIRC, stocks would be diamond magnas or diamond targets.
"Good condition" is a pretty subjective description. I would expect a tag of $500 give or take $50 depending on the particulars.
They are terrific revolvers.

R Crabtree is correct except I would say give or take a hundred.

I will get the ser# and post it I was told it is from the mid 50's,and @90% on the finish no pitting or holster were,or scratches, just the slight marks on the cylinder were it drags when turning, and barrel looks clean with no pitting.

If you haven't checked out the first page of "The ultimate Highway Patrolman" thread & read the details Allen-frame lays out, be sure you do.
