does a J frame 38spl 2" nickle exist?
I was looking for a M14 to go with my M17. My wife stated that her M34-1 does not have a "sidekick", so why should my M17.
Well, me, being who I am, got to thinking. So OK. Now I'm looking for a Square butt, J frame snubby in 38 spl, nickled. (It's for her )
Does such an animal exist?

Yes, they were made, my son had one. I have also seen nickel #37's in RB & SB.

I do believe #36's and #60's snubbies were made with adjustable sights but I am unsure of the butt configuration. I loaned my SCSW III to a friend, or I would look it up for you.

There were a very few Chiefs Special Targets, later called the model 50. Very rare in nickel.

You could also step up to a K frame and get a 2" M&P. They should be available in round or square and blue or nickel. M&P's tend to be cheaper due to the numbers made, however, in 2" and nickel they will be less plentiful.

Just saw one last week
I was at one of my local pawn shops last week and saw a 2" nickel with nice original grips. It's out of time but otherwise in good condition.
However it's not worth the asking price of $599
.
