Default Picked up a Model 17, K22 today-PICS

When to a show and picked up this Model 17, K22 with box, papers cleaning kit and screwdriver-

I paid $400 for it. There were 3 others at the show, but they were in the $600+ range without the box, paperwork and tools.

There is one spot, you can see it in the pic of the end of the barrel, where there is some pitting. Other than that, it's pretty good for a gun made in 1965.

The show was dead. I knew one of the guys there with a table, and he said that Sat was awful. No one was making any money at that show.

Your in it for less than retail money. The box and tools are fifty bucks or more.
And your lucky that the diamond magnas stayed with it, they usually get pulled for internet auction.

A Mod 17 like your new one is getting hard to find, don't worry about a little finish wear.

Gunshows have a gem or two, if you get there early and have a little luck.

Well done.

Thanks..I thought I might have used up my luck allotment when I was run off the road while on my motorcycle on the Friday before Labor Day left laying in a ditch...

Great deal! I would throw down at $400 in a heartbeat. The era of $300 K frames in whatever caliber is, sadly, over. Sometimes they still turn up, but by and large, I have to open my wallet wider these days. Good find, and the exact reason I keep looking.

Sweet acquisition -- congratulations! Aside from the part about the ditch, you must have been living right recently. Glad things are OK.

Seymour...the prices there were stupid. And mean stupid...

Way too high for a small show like that.

Really nice M17. I would have bought that in a heartbeat. I love my 17's and 617's. I went to a gun show Saturday and did not see a single 17 or 617 for sale.

The shows in our area have been sad lately too. When you find S&W's, they are beat to heck and back and priced like they are 90%. If you wanted XDM or something like that, you could do ok at the shows we have, other than that.... I like that one, should be a great "in the saddle" companion.

Default Nice K-22 Masterpiece.

You did well. I recently picked up a Model 17-4, albeit in 95%+ condition, but without the box and goodies, for a good bit more than you paid.

Model 17s of any flavor are getting pretty hard to find. Congrats!
