I thought I had a square J frame but turns out to be a round butt frame, will the square grips I accidently ordered fit the round butt frame. Or do I need to get the round set?

What kind of grips did you buy? I might be able to swap you a set of RB ones depending on what you're looking for.

Anyway, if they are wood and you are handy, you can just sand them down and modify them. A few types of rubber ones made in years past were set up to work with either round or square butts.

I got the wood factory square checkered set they are perfect I would not want to sand on them as they are really like brand new. Picked them up on ebay for $30. What I am looking for is the same in RB. What threw me was the non factory grips that came with the 36 made it look like a square butt, took them off and there was a RB hidden under them. I learned now to look first before assuming.
