K 22 Family Photo!
Hi all! Just wanted to share a new family photo of the K 22 clan. I have completed my set of K 22s today with the addition of a very nice 5 screw pre-model 17. (See what you all have done to me!! For more on the 5 screw, including close-ups, see my thread in the 1896-1960 section.) The family started with my 8 3/8" 17-3, and my lust for K22s just continued to grow thanks to this forum! Next, I had to have a Model 18, then I had to have one of each barrel length to complete the set! Here they are from bottom to top:
Model 18-3 4"
pre-Model 17 5 screw 6"
Model 17-3 8 3/8"

Very nice! K22s are like 1911s- you just can't have too many. Here's a few of mine.

Nice .22 S&Ws. I just took this picture last week and now you have given me a reason to post it. Here are my .22s.

K-22 Masterpiece

If I grab one to go with, it's usually the 18-2.

You've gotta love K-22's, those are all definate keepers to be proud of. I know I am of these two, of course the one on the right is a Model 43, but still a Smith & Wesson .22. Greg

NICE bunch of K-22's, everybody! Thanks for sharing. OIF2, is one of yours a "Heritage" gun, by any chance? Those are my personal "Favorites", and greatly under-appreciated, I believe. Paulie686.

Yes it is, as a matter of fact. Been losing a lot of sleep whether to shoot it or not...what do you think?

Hello
Yup, They sure did here is the Missing link, they were made from 1986-1989 in the Dash-4's and Dash-5's to Phase out the Model 18's. Here is a Dash-5 model 17, and you could have got this variation having the heavier Bull Barrel, in a 4" or 6" Barrel length...

Hello
Although they are not model marked 17's, I have seen no mention of the Model 48 K-22 Magnum Here. S&W Offered this one which came in .22 W.M.R. , but you also could have gotten it with an Optional .22 L.R. Cylinder making it a Versatile caliber K-22 variation. Here is my No Dash 1959 First Year Model 48 with the Optional .22 L.R. cylinder as well, and my 4" Version of the Model 48 which is also an early Four Screw revolver....

Unfortunately there is another missing variant that has managed to elude me ...
The 17-6 full underlug shown here with a 4" barrel....

This one bought used in '87 for $175. Traded to freind twenty years ago. Just bought it back for $450 which was my offer. The most accurate gun I've ever owned.

I dunno N-frame....that doesn't look like a complete family to me, with no full-lug in the picture.
Just sayin, of course...
