What is the vintage of these grips ? 60's? They are K frame. The bottom looks a but strange.

I have seen standard magnas rounded off at the bottom to mimic Plane Close PC grips.

I have a pair just like those on one of my model 10 from the late 60s. They came from a pre 10 made in the early 50s. I think they are original.

Would they make any sense on early 50's pre model 17. K22?

I'm not an expert but I'll say probably. I have an early 50s pre 17 but mine came with diamond target stocks that I sold on here right after I bought it. Target stocks are just too big for my hands. I would guess the target stocks were an option as many 17s wear magnas like mine does now But it seems that the K frames with adjustable sights usually come with the standard, unrounded, magnas. But grips are easily changed to suit owner preference. I'm assuming your grips do not match the serial number of your gun.

They look like factory PC (Plain Clothes) Magna's to me. They're also referred to as Modified Magna's. I don't see a serial number on the back of the right panel, so they may have been sold as accessories (at least the right panel). Judging by the back, they may be a mis-matched set that was pieced together.

They would fit just fine, but they weren't supplied on the K-22 Masterpiece. The 2" K-38 Combat Masterpiece was only adjustable sight K frame that came with PC Magna's.
