Default Box ?

Congrats.
Please show us your gun leather when you are set up. I am always interested in ways to carry . I am okay if walking, riding horse, or Bikes, but I need a Dirty Harry to pack the 6 1/2 inch in the car.

I learned about 40 years ago to never again to carry a big pistol in addition to slinging my hunting rifle on long long hunting walks. I wasn't trying to be like Elmer Keith or Bob Milek carrying a big revolver as a primary hunting arm or even as a "back up" I just wanted to have it with me for fun. After the third day of smacking the guns into me and into each other and I felt like burying one of them and coming back for it later.

Bornto, The day I took that picture I had the 29 in a day pack in a pistol rug. I, like you, carry a revolver mostly for the fun of it. I'm right handed and when I sit at a spot for awhile, I try to keep my largest field of view to my left. I always had the idea that if a piece of game approached to my right, it would be at a short distance and I could take a shot with my handgun. Since I am seated I just lay the handgun on my pack on my right. I have had deer come in like this on my right, but never when I had a handgun, of coarse.

I did carry the 29, a few times, in a Uncle Mikes holster I got with a 6" 28 I bought a few years ago. I am not a big fan of nylon holsters, but it was pretty comfortable. It was one of the newer Uncle Mike's with the plastic paddle on the right and I attached a cartridge "wallet" on it with some extra rifle and pistol rounds in it. I had a cross draw holster made for my Ruger Redhawk 41 mag, with a 7 1/2 barrel, and that keeps it on my left side when I am slinging a rifle, but is hard as heck to sit down with.
