Looking for DOB of S&W 32-1, SN 114XXX. It does not have a flat latch. Grips don't match SN. Should grips be diamond version?

i will jump in and give you some facts. the -1 started in 1961. the flatlatch stopped in 1966. the diamond grips stopped in 1968. the serial number got an "R" prefix in 1969. with these facts, i would figure (assuming yours is not originally a flatlatch), that it is from about 1967 or 1968, and that it most likely did come with diamonds. s&w did some strange and unexpected shipping/serial sequences, so this is just my best guess with the data at hand!
