Show off your N-frame .357's (27's and RM's)
Seeing all the Registered Magnums and Model 27's out there, it's time for a thread for all included. So lets see em, both the Registered Magnums, the pre-27's, and the 27's.
Here is my one and only (for now), a 3 1/2 27-2

Here's my shooter, a 6" Pre-27 from 1955 that came to me with wrong-number magnas. It now sports Kurac stocks:
This gun has some front-sight corrosion issues that I have partially addressed to keep the situation from getting worse, thought it needs some more work and some touch-up bluing.l I have a five-inch barrel with a gold-bead sight that I may put on this gun someday -- a project for the future.
And I have this keeper, probably unfired since leaving the factory--a longnose Pre-27 from 1956.

Here is my 27-3 I picked up last year.
It was LNIB. I don't think it was fired except at the factory.

Good looking revolvers all. Love the look of the front sights with the pins on the 50s guns.
The Models 27 and 28 are THE way to do .357 Magnum.

This one is cheating a bit ! A .38-.44 Outdoorsman cut down and reamed to .357Magnum sometime in the 1940's.

Here's a Mod 27 (no dash) shipped in Oct. 1961. 3 1/2" nickel and a set of distressed but rescued cokes that I added. It's a pleasure to shoot and one of my favorites.

I'm not likely to ever have an RM but I have been lucky enough to own a few 357s by S&W. Currently in the safe are these three:
First is a restored, round-butted and reblued 27-2 that was badly pitted and rusted by a previous owner's storage under a truck seat.
Second is my example of the ******* cousin of the 27, the Model 28. This one is a "no dash" and represents the 4" barrel M-28 I first carried as a LEO.
Finally is the real one, a pre-27 with numbered Magnas and my favorite barrel length of 5".

Pre-27 3.5”
I thought I was getting out of N-frame collecting but couldn’t resist picking up this one. The 5-screw pre-model 27 in 3 ˝” barrel is a signature model for S&W so I suppose every collection should have one . . . or more!
When it shipped in February 1954 I suspect it was outfitted with diamond magnas but it came to me with these . . .
I suppose I can live with them .
