New Grip Suggestions for M-10
I've haven't been here long enough to expect anyone to remember, but I've posted a couple times about my new Model 10-6 Heavy Barrel with a 4 inch barrel.
I finally got to take it to the range. It shot great, but I didn't feel like I could get a consistent grip on it.
So here's my question(s):
1) Is there a good after-market grip available for people with smaller hands? I'm a guy, but I'm 5'8". I don't have huge hands.
2) I realize that getting a grip on a new gun takes some practice, so any suggestions on saving me some money and suggesting a solid grip (hand position) to take on the gun?
If I do buy new grips, I can't find any good places that stock them locally. So I'm just going to have to take a chance and buy online. Since they're usually not big tickets items, I'm not too worried about it.
I'd appreciate any help you guys might have.

Uncle Mike's made a boot grip for square butt K frames, not sure if it is still offered but they come up for sale every so often. Many members of this forum are addicted to the Tyler T adapters, like on the #10-7 in the photo below. I have never been a fan, though I tried to have an open mind. I pull them off and mail them to people now-a-days.

I recently put a Hogue Monogrip on the 4" HB Model 64 I picked up right after Christmas, it's a very comfortable grip. Since it has an open backstrap it would probably be well suited for smaller hands. They are inexpensive too, if it turns out that you don't like them you won't be out a lot of money...

I have an old M&P in 38 special that should be about the same size as your 10-6. I have average sized hands and I put Tyler T grips in front of the original diamond magna grips. The revolver is now the most comfortable handgun I have. You can usually find them at gun shows for $20-25 or on this forum for $25-35.

Hi,
I am very short too. I am 5 ft 6 inchs and have very small hands. I have a newer model 10-14 4 inch and also a 66-4 4 inch. Both of these revolvers have the Uncle Mikes rubber grips. I find these grips to be very comfortable to shoot. You might check them out. I am enclosing both pictures of the revolvers with the Uncle Mikes grips.
Good luck,
Howard

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll start shopping around for the grips you all mentioned.

My sister has small hands, and when she was testing out one of my K frames, she preferred it with the Tyler.
They can be a little hard to find though. I need a couple more myself and can't bring myself to send a check to Tyler until they get straightened out and they go really fast on the board here. The prices on flea bay are ridiculous.

I have used pachmayrs with great success on Ks for years, howerver Hogues might be a better fit and they are the best priced and found at almost any gunshop. If you don't want rubber and can not locate a grip adapter, try target grips with open back straps. You might be very surprized. SW & other wood targets can also be thinned to your preferrence if you like to do this kind of work. Gun shows have lots of used K options for under $20.

I had exactly the same situation like you a few months ago, but with a model 64, only difference being SS versus blue steel. I tired a few oversize range/target aftermarket ones, but they were far too big for me to be comfortable.
I had a pair of S&W targets somewhere around which I almost considered no good, but finally tried them as nothing else immediately seemed to fit. Big surprise, they did fit well to my hands, and the .38's recoil was handled perfectly. And visually, they looked perfect to me. So I am 100% pleased with them now, and for no money I would change them.

Belgian, I just picked a set of those off of eBay for my 10. I hope I like them.
