Default Upside down

I have noticed that some model # labels are upside down on the boxes that house the guns. Any reason for this?

So when the boxes are inserted with the top upside down, and the bottom inside the top, the label is right-side up. It keeps people from picking up the box by the top and having the bottom and gun fall out.

Yes, there is. When the labels were right side up, then the boxes were put on shelves right side up. Often when someone would pick up the box by the top, the bottom would slide loose and the revolver fall to the floor. Hard on the finish.

So rather than redesign the box, they just put the label on upside down so the top of the box was now the bottom, sort of.

Some dealer displayed them on their shelves in the showcase with the box opened, this keeps the box sections together and lets you read the label right side up.

Obviously this doesn't work with the newer boxes.
