Default Model 43 questions

This may belong in the pre-'61 forum, but since my 43 is a 3 screw, I thought this the most appropriate. Can anyone advise when the Kit Gun Airweight began to be stamped with the Model 43 designation, and the approx. serial number range of that change? Mine is # 642XX, and I've estimated it to be circa 1959-60. Please advise if I'm close on this date range. Thanks.

Thank you diamonback68. At approx. what s.n. were the Kit Guns given the model 43 designation? Also, I understand that there are different styles of flat latches, but can someone explain the differences/dates of use of the different styles?

Had questions to answer, maybe somone else can.
Late 1957 to early 1958 all Smiths began having model numbers. In 1955 serial numbers started with 11000, then the book skips to 1959 with beginning serial number 52673, so it's hard to tell. Not sure about the flatlatch time periods. Best I can do.
