2.5 inch K frame questions
I love the overall look of the 2.5 inch K frame revolver. The seem to be asthetically very propotionate and balanced. Don't get me wrong, I love the 3" and 4" versions too! Was the 2.5 inch K frame available in a stainless version?

I think it was, I just think the Blued 2.5 19-4,is one of the sexiest pistols ever made. My daughter will get mine, she likes it too.

Yes, model 66. Be careful, the no-dash early model 66s would tend to bind in the cylinder when hot. Been there, done that. I agree about the esthetics, and they shoot well too, for a snubby. I recall hitting a gong at 200 yards from a rest 4 out of 5 times once I found the right hold over. They can be surprisingly accurate. The only drawback is the muzzle blast when using 357 ammo, which can be pretty startling to the people next to you at the range. I've tended to use the lighter Buffalo Bore loads, and Remington golden sabers, both of which are loaded in between .357 and .38 standards and are more manageable.

I've got a no-dash 2.5" Model 66...it's my favorite belt gun. I've done extended range sessions of 300-400 rounds and never experienced any issues whatsoever. I know it's heard of though, and the reason for the -1 & -2 engineering changes. These are great little K-frame snubs...it'd take a healthy amount of cash to get me to sell mine

There is a reason the 2 1/2" 66 and 19 are so sought after... It's as close to ideal for its intended use as any firearm S&W has ever produced.
Many were made through the years but always significantly less than the market demanded. That shortfall is reflected today in both the demand and price of this arguably "perfect" firearm....
JMHO....

Lol...and to think, there used to be a time when that was a reasonable offer! I'd have to be hard-up to sell this one. My grandfather taught me to never sell "the good ones"

If you want the stainless look you can make a blue one be one.

I just acquired a nickeled 19-3 snub about three weeks ago and it became my instant favorite revolver. It's a perfect carry gun and it shoots beautifully. Now, I just need a blued 19 and a 66 snub to go with it!

I think the 2.5" k frame is a nice combo.
I am partial to the blue, however, I do have a 19-5 in nickel.

You're sure right about that. The last time I had my 2 1/2" 19-3 at the range the person that I was shooting with and I were on Lane 1, which is the furthest left, against the wall, the guy I was shooting with told me afterwards that while I was shooting the other people at the range all stopped for a moment and looked our direction with a "What the heck is that guy shooting?" look.

Love my 2.5" K-magnums. Got a 19-3 and a 66-7. The 66-7 had the lock removed and plugged and has become one of my favorite carry guns.

Thank you all for your posts. Love the guns, forgot about the 66 and the 19. I had purchased a NIB Model 66 a couple of years back and was forced to sell it. I was thinking more towards the fixed sight K frame 2.5 inch revolvers. Love the looks of the 2.5 model 10. Was there a 2.5 inch Model 64 ?

(Chuckle) That's pretty much the way I got it but I do admit to the application of some MPro7 and brushing here and there. Thanks.
