Default HELP IDENTIFYING GRIPS! Kearsarge?

Hello I came across these grips and would like any information anyone here could provide. They are beautiful carved walnut, and although this is the S&W forum and these clearly are for a Colt I hope someone here might have any idea who made them and or any info on value. ANY information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all very much! This is such a great forum with so much fantastic information.

Spartan, got your email and thought I would chime in here.
I don't see anything that would lead me in the direction of Kearsarge as the maker. Definitely hand made, the carving looks much like what you would find on furniture at the turn of the century with the possible exception of the dimpled background. Also looks like they used factory hardware although it's installed backwards from S&W factory. Neat old set of grips, my guess is that someone with carving tools and the ability to use them made himself a set of grips once upon a time. Maybe someone else on the forum will recognize them.

Keith

Keith thank you so much! I didn't know if they were Kearsarge, they don't have the look. You are right with a furniture carver, they so look like some of the pieces of antique furniture I have seen.
