Default Another price check... S&W 34 RB 4 "

Guys, while out shooting today a friend mentioned he was looking for a S&W .22 revolver. I told him about my S&W 34, round butt 4” pinned barrel (narrow front sight), with box, that’s basically a safe queen of mine. Gun is in VG condition (or better). Sorry, no photos (so yell at me). Anyway we went back to my house and I let him have the revolver, told him to shoot it and see if he really wanted it. Bottom line, what’s a reasonable price for such a handgun.

A functioning model 34 is a $400 gun. Depending on its exact condition, an average gun in the current market is $450-500.

A "safe queen" mod 34 would go in the $600 - $700 range, just look at a lot of completed auctions and Gunbroker. A 97% gun in the $550 to $600 range.

Reasonable is very subjective. If your 34 is truly a safe queen, then I agree with HRichard. I paid a bit more than that for mine. Actually quite a bit.

However you said he's a friend. So there in lies your dilemma. You have been given a range from a shooter to a safe queen. Average those numbers or check sold / completed auctions on gb and do an avg of those.

Hope that helps.

Thanks guys. I'll be able to come up with a rational number and reduce the price for "most favored nations" status!

This is a Model 34-1, 4" barrel and factory nickel plate. Its condition is 95% plus. I paid $600 a few months ago, and thought the price was reasonable.
