Model 60 no dash 2" Class A Engraved...Help Needed "Picture HEAVY"
I know absolutely nothing about scratches. Does anyone know who may have done this? The initials "J L" are on the back strap. All I know is based on the serial number it a 1969 version. Also I need to know what type of value it would hold.

No Sal and Mike !!! This hain't no dagum Karma!  But I think I got some good karma today!  I need to find out what this puppy is worth so I know just how much Karma I received!!
Going to OGCA in the morning. Didn't go today. Was at the gun shop that I moonlight at sometimes today though. I'm taking the owner tomorrow. He made me an offer even the both of you wouldn't refuse!  Especially Sal! 'Cause Ivory ain't cheep! ...niether are Ropers!!

I too thought that the owner had his initials put there. That would be a pretty blatant spot for the engravers signature!

I did some research.. Skeeters Article titled " Bustamonte "
I Hate You" I Hate You
It qualifies as an early Horseshoe nail and 2 pound hammer style.. not worth very much..
To save you any further embarassment..  , you have my address .. I'll keep it by the pool, to ward off any attacking Palmetto Bugs..

Rags, can't help with who did the engraving but all I can say is that is one sweet model 60! Congrats

I know someone that would trade a pristine model 12-2 for it,

There's a dealer on GunBroker who always seems to list a few engraved SS Smiths like this. I think his starting prices run $1,200 - $2,000 depending on the model gun for sale.
