Default Date Help ?

Picked up a Diamond Grip,flat latch,Mod 36 #9513x. Nickle,with the grips and cyl numbered to the pistol. There is no model number stamped on the yoke. Any help on the date of manf would be appreciated.

That one most likely shipped in 1957.

Thanks for your responce. I must admitt I'm suprised it's that old, given the exc condition the pistol is in. Just a little loss of nickel at the muzzel and a few pin-head spots where the nickle had turned dark on the cylinder. Grips are mint with strong case color on hammer and trigger. Found in local estate sale a few weeks ago. Guess it must have spent it's life in the bed side table. Sorry,not set up for pics,if I was it would be listed in the for sale section. But again, thanks for you help in dating
it.

Regarding its age, I'm presuming that you've given the whole serial number, and that there's not an unstated "J" preceding the numerals. As to the stocks (grips), if the gun is that early, they should have the diamonds surrounding the escutcheons.

All you need to be "set up" for photos is any sort of digital picure taker, a cell phone camera works just fine. It's worthwhile getting enabled in this respect, you'll always receive more and better info in response to your posts....
