Engraved Model 60
I have an engraved Model 60 .38spl I'm trying to get some information on. I called S&W and they said the gun didn't leave the factory engraved but that doesn't mean it didn't come back to be engraved there. Under the carved ivory grips are the initials "R.B. 3-80". Can anyone help me figure out if this was engraved at the factory or not?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome from the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.
Can't help ya with any info on the engraving but that's a little beauty, thanks for sharing.
I'd like to see more pics of it with the grips (or is it stocks?)

I moved your post to the S&W Revolvers: 1961 to 1980 section, since the gun has a pinned barrel.
The engraver could be Roger Beaupre. The extensive punch dot background and the linear star at the front of the ejector rod shroud looks like his work.
Send him some photos and see if he recognizes it.

Hi Andy,
You've adopted a beautiful gun. I'm sure she'll be your loyal companion.
I love my Model 60, and I'm not a stainless dude. Go figure
