Mod 14-2 4"HB
I got my letter back from S&W about my 14-2 HB. It's the real deal. I tried to post some pictures. I have the screwdriver and cleaning rod no swab or brush. There were only 100 of these made in 1965. There was another run of 100 units in 1967 but it was a little different. They apparently have different boxes

That is awesome. If the box is original, it is harder to find than the guns; least that is what I have found. Great package deal!

Box
There is no writing on the end of the box at all like on some of my other boxes. There is no evidence of a sticker ever being on it either.

Too Cool
Man, that is nice, and I would love to get one like it. A keeper. I just bought a 4" Model 67 because I could not find a older 14 like it. Congrats!

Hello Woody
The Dayton Outdoor Sport's revolvers were made from 1965-1968. There was a special 4 block serial number reserved for them. There was 184 of them made in their Three year run of Four seperate shipments of them. These gun's were made prior to the S&W Performance shop, so they were assembled on the assembly line, but returned to the factory vault until they were completed or future demand asking for them to be shipped to Dayton headquarters. Dayton Outdoor Sport's was a huge Police supply whole sale company back then & They came with the heavy 4" Barrel in Blued or Rarer Yet High Polished Nickel finishes at an extra cost. Most were equipped with Magna stocks but Diamond Target stocks could have been ordered on them. Below is my Hannen Special Model 14-2 revolver, it came with Target stocks, Target Hammer & Target Trigger. It no longer lives with me as I traded it off for a 1951 Five screw Pre-16 K-32 Masterpiece, with No Regrets. The Add shown is a sales flier Hanen sent out to promote these special Built Revolvers...
