They don't build 'em like that anymore.
Well photographed high condition revolvers.
I like!

All of my K Frames, including my K-38, wear magnas. But I find that I need a grip adaptor.

OK, I'll play.
I've actually posted this picture a lot recently. I did a thread on grips for this K22 over in 1980 to the present. I found these diamonds on a junk table of a LGS for $30!

It's a little out of the date range, but this satisfies my need for a Blued & Magna S&W, as all the others I have are stainless...
1953 K-22 with Magnas and T-grip...

My favorite gun
I'm gettin' where I can barely shoot guns with magna grips on them. And these older ones feel MUCH better than the later ones, which I find too square, and the checkering really grinds into my fingers. ;-)

Rags you have a fabulous collection and the revolvers are almost as stunning as your photo's. I only have one K frame with magnas which is my latest a 17-4 that I bought last friday and it's mint with numbered box and tool kit.

Just got the grips from a board member yesterday.
1951 Combat Masterpiece
I've got this one on layaway. They are BAD cell phone pictures. I'll probably never shoot it, but...
As best I can tell it's a Military and Police Model 1905, third change. SN puts it somewhere around 1910-12. It looks MUCH better in real life.

I remember when most gunshops and many tables at gunshows would have a box full of new take-off Magnas (as well as Colt and Ruger slabs) and sell them as low as $2 a pair. It seemed everybody was putting the then new Pachamyr rubber or other custom grips on the S&W revolvers they bought. All mine have Hogues , as the Magnas just don't fit my hand.

It used to be the first thing you did when you got a gun was jerk those awful magnas off and put something useful on. You could go to the gunshow and dig through boxes full of them and buy them for $5 a pair, and not that long ago, either!!!
The older, diamond ones are not so awful for me, but the newer ones do kinda suck. For me, they're too square, too thick at the bottom, and too thin at the top. I'm finishing up a pair for myself that are thicker at the top, and more rounded. They should work a little better for me.

When I posted my first group of photos, I kept thinking, I know I have a 1948 K-22 also, so I started pulling boxes from the safe and "viola" found it. Then I realized I had several more blue K frames and pulled those out so I could photograph them. I duplicated the Pre 18 in the last photo group, but I don't think that is bad. I had forgotten that I had the 18-3 though . Getting old and losing my memory too fast.

Collectors who are also photographers,
I have to say that a vast number of our forum members must be professional photographers...I see some of the most incredible guns on these threads, and the pictures are even more incredible - composition, clarity, lighting... you guys amaze me! I can't even upload a high resoltution picture from my camera - only the ones from my phone will load.
I salute you - any tips will be welcomed, so pm me.
