S&W 25-2
I am new to the forum and lack knowledge about Smiths. Picked up a few and need advice.
25-2, 2 3/4" bbl with red ramp sight. Caliber not marked on bbl. Ser# N805XXX . Awful big gun with short bbl. Is it a common length? Doesn't look cut down.
25-2,6 1/2" bbl with blued front sight. Marked 45 model 1955. Ser# N459XXX.
ARE THESE 45ACP? No moon clips with the gun. All are 95% guns, any idea of worth?

Welcome to the forum.
That 2 3/4" has been cut down, I'm pretty sure. I don't see anything in the SCSW about one of that length and it should have the caliber marking on the barrel. If done nice that would be a cool gun.
N805xxx should be from around 1981-82.
I believe they both should be 45 ACP. You can shoot them without the clips but you may need a pencil or dowel to poke the empties out.
N459xxx should be from 1977-78.
Nice guns. Think you could post some pictures? We love pics.

There were a couple of custom guns marketed by gunsmiths during the seventies which come to mind. They bought the 25-2's standard from the factory, and chopped the barrel and usually converted the butt to a k frame round-butt configuration.
Google Jovino 25-2 and you'll get some information. While they did do some other calibers, .45 ACP is the most common.
With .45 ACP ammo you will want moon clips (commonly available) or you can also use .45 Auto Rim cases without a clip. (You can use .45 ACP without clips, but you can't eject them with your extractor rod, you must pick them out of the cylinder one at a time.) These little beauties have almost a cult-like following, and if the work is of high quality, yours should be worth at least as much if not more than a standard 25-2, IMHO.

Sure would like to see some close up shots of your chopped 25. Is the barrel crowned or does it have a ball lock up in the crane?

25-2
Here's a 25-2 that I picked up a few years ago, It's not
quite the quality job as a Jovino, but fun to shoot. This one
is chambered for 45 LC
Round butt on the back strap , square butt on the front.

I'd love to see pics of your guns, especially the snubby.
Nice shorty, Notredame! Bet it's a ball to shoot.
This is a pic of my Austin Behlert customized 25-2 that I got from another forum member (sorry to keep posting the same pic but it's off getting some work done on it so this is all I have)-
