My small but much appreciated collection of Combat Magnums:

Up top is a 6" 66-1, middle is a 4" 19-4, and finally a snub 19-6. The 6" 66 & 4" 19 are a pleasure to shoot but the little 19 is a bi**h with magnums, Hence the goodyear grips which tame it some and don't hurt conceability much. Not shown is one I am still looking for, "my" snub 66.

Beautiful collection! Congrats! It doesn't get any better than a Combat Magnum, and sadly, evidently won't.

I use those Pachmyars on my Combat Magnum snubs too. Good luck with the search for the snub 66. Great revolvers! Regards 18DAI

TW, I've got the same exact revolvers excepting the dash numbers and the scary part is I've been on the lookout for a model 66 snub that I can carry in summer months.

TW, beautiful collection. I have a small collection of Combat Magnums as well, but all of mine are snubbies. I have two M19-3s and one M19-4 snubby, but mine are nickel. I have been on the lookout for a 4" M19-3 or 4 in nickel, but the ones I find are too expensive or are in really rough shape. Good luck finding that M66 snubbie.

They probably aren't going to get any cheaper. Somebody on the forum pointed out that it might be too much this year, but right on the money next year.

I like wood on my revolvers too, but the Pachmayr Compacs you've got on the 19-6 makes sense.
I did a thread on a 65-3 that I put those on and commented how much they help in taming recoil.

I really like the 6 inch Mod 66. They don't get a lot of press but it's the classic stainless revolver profile if there ever was one.

I have a 4" 66-1 but the rest are all 2 1/2" and 3". You are spot on the snubs with mag loads, but they are excellent with 38+P. I don't shoot my 686-1 2 1/2" with many mags either because of the beating it delivers! I always carry a 66 snub.

Well, here's a mix of all the Mod. 66-1 barrel lengths. All that are shown are NIB and I was fortunate to pick them up when they were being produced.

I believe many here will agree they are among our favorites and rightfully deserve their huge following.... The "Combat Magnums" along with their siblings, the Mod 19's, have already reached true "classic" status and I believe they will become one of the handful of major collectables of their era.....

Very nice. Here's my snub 19-3. I've resisted replacing the service grips for two reasons. First, because they facilitate a very high hold and a lower bore axis which improves my accuracy. Second, because they just look so darn cool. I haven't fired anything more robust with this gun than 38 +Ps but one of these days I'll probably put some Uncle Mike's on the gun so that I can shoot magnums with it comfortably.

I had a first generation 19 snubby as an off duty carry but twice when I fired full .357 loads an internal piece failed. So I traded for a model 36 and have it since 1975. My 4" 19 is my home defense gun loaded with .38 Spl +P

Just a couple of short ones here now...19-2 and 66-no dash






I had this 4" 66 round butt and traded it away (still in the family though)

There you go posting pictures of Colts in my Combat Magnum thread. Actually, I was a Colt man first but I have come around to the S&W side. Still keep a bunch of Colts (and Rugers) around though. I must admit I can not understand how you let that 4" RB get away, even to family.
