Great purchase is right! I would happily pay $500 for a 19 or 66 in that condition. Well done and I hope you enjoy shooting that beauty.

That's a pretty one for sure! You wouldn't find it for that price in my neck o' the woods.

Great Score! Model 19 shooters have been going for $425 with no box.

Any idea on the date? Such a small S/N should make it an early -3? I also pulled the grips. I know the guy who bought this gun new and I know these are the original grips but they are not numbered. Is this common with the target grips?

Looks like a 1975 ship date. Target stocks of this era were not numbered. Enjoy!

Beautiful gun. I have a 19-3 6 inch with some holster wear but it shoots like a rifle. I also have a 19-3 2 1/2 inch and it is a great gun too. Congratulations.

not in mine either. that would have been $800 around here. you just don't see guns like that very often. i don't know if you plan to shoot it but it ought to shoot like the proverbial "house on fire".

I love the -3 and older models since they all seem to have a much better polishing and bluing done on them. That one looks sharp!!!

A beautiful classic pinned barrel counterbored S&W, and yes the number would make it a 1975. The -3 guns started in 67, and the - 4 ones began in 77.
