Like a few others, I have no regrets because I still have every gun that I have ever bought.
It's true that I like a few of my little toys more than some of the the others, but I still have 'em all.
Keep in mind that most of the time when you sell something, you are probably taking a loss (especially if you go through a dealer or store) unless it was a collector's item that appreciated - but those items usually keep appreciating so you will still be taking a future loss.
Best not to buy an item unless you are really serious about keeping it. Just one of the things I have learned through the years.

When I went through my divorce I had to sell my o/u Citori Browning to help pay off some bills. Then about a 3 years ago I sold a Winchester 20 gauge pump. Tried to get the Winchester back since I sold it to a co-worker and all I got back was a .... lol.

The guns I regret selling.
Model 66 no dash and two model 29's are my biggest regrets in the pistol dept.

An Anschutz 54, a Colt LW Commander in .38 Super and a 6" and 4" Colt Python come to mind.

I had a Walther ppk/s that was a jammomatic. I did everything I could to get it to work right but it never did. Then after I sold it they had a recall!
But I used the money to get my Buckmark (which I love) so it wasn't a total loss.

I regret selling all of the few firearms I have parted company with over the years. I've sold a few that didn't perform reliably but I should have held on to them and taken the time to figure out why they didn't function properly. I sold a few that I wasn't crazy about when I needed money to fund some other project but that was a mistake. You can always make more money but sometimes trying to replace that special firearm you once owned when you get sellers remorse can be pretty difficult. I buy things that interest me with the intention of holding on to them and passing them along when I'm gone.

Colt gold cup, my first real pistol. My mother gave it to me when I was 16.
I don't remember what I sold/traded it for....sad.

My biggest regret was not one of my S+W but my very first handgun. A Royal Blue 4 inch Colt Python. I actually traded it for a new S+W 586 plus $100 cash. Very foolish, as I should have kept it, and just bought the 586.

6 - 7 years ago I was in a rabid/foaming at mouth 1911 craze. Sold my 3" M66 that I had always enjoyed. What a dumb move. They make M1911's everyday and now I have a bunch. M66 3 inchers don't grow on trees though.......

I don't regret any, and I've sold quite a few rifles and handguns.
If I decide to sell it, it means I'm not attached to it. If I had to fund something in an emergency, there are many shooter grade guns that would go before the ones I "can't live without".
Overall, I have come to become less attached to material objects. You can't take any of it with you, so shoot them and enjoy. Once in a while I go through a "selling phase" to add more of what I enjoy. I was an avid rifle shooter for 10 years, over the past year I sold most of my 100+ piece rifle collection so I could pay off debt, and in the process added more S&W and Ruger handguns to my collection.
I don't live my life in the rear view mirror, you can only look forward, not back. Don't dwell on selling something that you were attached to, just think about what you may get in the future that you like as much if not more.

2 (yes, 2) Bulgarian Makarovs. Sold one to finance divorce, traded the other for something I thought I liked better
2 (yes, 2) Brazilian-contract S&W 1917. Both were shooters, but man, were they cool!!! Traded off for something stupid
Blue-Sky Inland m-1 carbine. Bought for $200 when they were first brought in. It was a shooter, but a fun gun.
S&W 6904. Awesome little 9mm compact pistol. Loaned it to a "friend" who promptly disappeared.
Its late and that all I can remember right now

with regrets
I regret selling my S&W model 686 stainless steel 4 inch revolver. I bought it brand new. I fired hundreds and hundreds of rounds through that gun. Handled like a dream. When times are bad and the moneys not coming in we all have to make that differcult choice to sell or not to sell. Its life i guess. It sucks.

Sorry I sold my S&W Model 13-2 (.357 magnum). Fortunately, I sold it to my son-in-law so if I want to shoot it, it's still there for me. Just wish I still had it at home!

No regrets for me.
I bought new & then sold a 2" 10 and a Colt Agent(? - alloy one) back in the day, but frankly, I like my 3" and 4" 10's, 36 and 60 a lot better than those. I traded a 6" 686-1 for a 4" 686-4 and like the 4" one a LOT better. Everything else - I gave several away. sold others - I don't miss at all.

The only gun I ever regretted selling was my first handgun.
It was a S&W 645. I bought it when they first came out in the mid 80's.
I replaced it a couple of years ago, though, so it's alright.
So far, I haven't sold any other guns that I would be sorry about later.
I tend to keep most of them, and only sell or trade to upgrade.

I had a S&W Model 39-2 that had FTE problems many (25+) years ago. Only had it for a few years and tripped it. Should have kept it and figured it out because it was very accurate. Life goes on......

Like many others, ALL OF THEM. But three relatively recent ones really sting.
In 2008 I purchased a 1974 Norton Commando that I wanted to restore and "decided" that I needed to recoup my cash outlay, so I stupidly sold:
An ANIB original 1997 S&W PC 627 5" 8-shot for $800
An unfired mint NIB original 1999 S&W PC 627 2" "Bloodwork" UDR for $900
An ANIB 1 of 300 1999 Lew Horton S&W 610 3" for $800
Today, these three revolvers combined will easily fetch well over $4000.
Ive since purchased a few other rare S&W revolvers that partially make up for my blunder, but never again will I sell a collectible gun to finance something else.

At one point I had three Model 35s from the early 1970s and a Model 34 that had a Model 35 barrel that dated from 1956 or 58. It had the short cylinder and shot better than any of the 35s. Kept it and sold the 35s...
Don't miss any of the 35s really but wish I had kept one and put a 51 cylinder in it to have a 6" J-Frame .22 Magnum...
The 35s were all sold to friends who still have them...Bob

I have been blessed financially in life so I have never had to sell one of my guns. However, I did have some stolen when my house was robbed. (Before I was smart enough to buy a gun safe!)
M-19 2 1/2" round butt that I carried in a shoulder holster under my flak jacket in Viet Nam.
Colt Combat Commander that I carried everywhere.
M-686 6" that was probably the most accurate revolver I have ever owned.

Heckler & Koch P7M13 with a box and three magazines.
I sold it because I did not like shooting it but wish I had kept it because they are not commonly encountered and fetch even more money today than when I sold mine.

M1 Garand
