19-2 Magna Grips?
Good Evening All,
I have a line on a 19-2 that I'm thinking about adding to the hurd and I want to make sure the grips are original.
The grips look like diamond Magnas. They look correct as far as wear, etc but I'm not used to seeing Magna grips but then again I'm new to the game.
Did the 19-2 come with factory diamond Magna
The pistal also looks to have a target hammer but non-target trigger. Is this also normal from the factory?
Thanks in advance
Dave

VRich, that's what I'm used to seeing, the target stocks. I also noticed what looks to be a target hammer but standard trigger, is that correct?

Target hammer would be very common on a Model 19-2.
Magna grips on the 2 1/2" round butt version.

My vote is that some previous owner changed the grips AND the hammer.

Possible that it was ordered that way but only a letter could tell you.

Most likely shipped with diamond target stocks made of Goncalo alves that were later exchanged for Magna stocks. I imagine the Magna stocks are numbered to a different revolver unless they were purchased separately from S&W and would have no number.
